Man Of The World
was a 35MM film series chronicling the international adventures of Michael Strait, one of the world's ace freelance photographer/reporter who only accepts the assignments that appeal to him. On the lookout for unusual stories, Strait travels the world encountering a millionaire who fears that his daughter will be kidnapped, getting involved in a foray across the border into Indochina and into London to meet a girl who claims to be a mindreader.

Several storylines had Strait accepting photoshoot work for leading fashion magazines and ITC commenced an association with the Fashion House Group of London, who were a number of designers and companies who specialised in exposing their work via television. Hence, the Fashion House Group would supply female fashions for other ITC series including The Baron and Man In A Suitcase.

Strait was played by American actor Craig Stevens who had previously played the title role in the Stateside detective series Peter Gunn. Tracy Reed played Strait's sometime companion Maggie MaCfarlane and funny-man Graham Stark appeared in a couple of episodes as Hank.
